Tiger Airways Got a Make Over.. It Better be Extreme

Brand new corporate image unveiled for Tiger Airways. That crouching tiger icon makes way for a simpler typography logo.

Tiger Airways -> Tigerair

Why the brand refresh?

We have initiated a series of changes since late last year, and this brand identity should be seen as a reinforcement of our commitment towards a better and bolder Tigerair. - Group CEO of Tiger Airways Holdings

Better late than never? Tiger Airways is one of the leading budget airlines around.. for customer complaints. In a recent report from news.com.au, Tiger Airways took a strong lead with 2.17 complaints per 100,000 passengers carried. Its closest competitor scored 1.44 per 100k passengers carried. 306 out of 477 customer reviews rated Tiger Airways as Terrible and that is the worst rating option available. I do see positive customer reviews supporting Tiger Airways, but that could be some reputation rescue job. Don't just take my word, have your own judgement.

Recent awards won by Tigerair include:

Top 3 Airlines by Passenger Carriage (Singapore) at the Changi Airline Awards 2013

Top Airline by Growth in Cargo Carriage at the Changi Airline Awards 2013

Top Airline by Growth in Passenger Carriage (Singapore) at the Changi Airline Awards 2012 for 3 years in a row

Best in-flight meals in the low cost airline category at the Asia Pacific Airline Food Awards 2012

Low Cost Airline of the Year Award at CAPA's Aviation Awards for Excellence in 2010

Can Tigerair put a lasting smile across customers' face with its new direction?

It better does, before its existing customers scoot off.
